INFORMATION: |
Several years ago, TSPC
approved a process whereby Oregon teachers completing Commission-approved licensure programs can apply, pay
a fee and, based upon the university’s recommendation verifying the applicant
has met all the requirements, a license will be issued. The concept has been that this process will
expedite the processing for new licensees from our programs. The licenses are generally issued in 7 to 10
days, sometimes less (sometimes more.) |
|
To
ensure integrity with regard to the validity of the information, Commission
staff has conducted random audits of teacher program files to ensure that the
data being verified matches the recommendation the program made to TSPC. This has been a successful collaboration
between TSPC and the colleges and universities.
TSPC
staff has conducted C2 fast-track audits as part of accreditation site
visits. Any findings would be documented
in the site visit report.
Institutions
where C2 audits were conducted as part of a scheduled site visit were: Northwest Christian University, University of
Oregon, Southern Oregon University, Oregon State University, Marylhurst
University, Willamette University, Multnomah University, Portland State
University, Concordia College and Warner Pacific College.
TSPC
did conduct a C2 fast-track audit with George Fox University outside of the
site visit process. The TSPC audit team
reviewed 32 files from the Newburg, Salem, Redmond and Boise campuses. There were no findings to report.
TSPC
staff intends to schedule C2 audits with the following institutions prior to
December 2011: University of Phoenix,
Western Oregon University, Pacific University, Eastern Oregon University,
Corban University, Linfield College, Lewis and Clark College and University of
Portland.
