ITEM:	REPORT ON TEACHING WITHOUT A LICENSE
ACTION:	INFORMATION ITEM
INFORMATION:	TSPC did not receive the staffing report from ODE until late November. Once the match was made (on that date) and after Speech Language Pathologists, duplicates and people who’s license was “pending expiration” due to possible discipline action, approximately 175 educators remained.

Of these 175, it appears that approximately 30 are currently working on expired licenses or without a license. This number includes several people working as special education specialists such as occupational therapists, psychologists, counselors, etc., who are not licensed by the other state licensing board.

The remaining educators are either licensed or retired. Due to the time to go through each of the 175, a detail report cannot be produced at this time, however, in the cases where we have notified the district that the educator is working without a license, they have responded quickly and appropriately.

We will attempt to provide a more detailed report in May.
