INFORMATION: |
At the last Commission meeting, a new process was
discussed in an attempt to remove discipline cases more quickly from the
investigator’s workload that do not require an in depth investigation due to
lack of facts sufficient to support a finding of misconduct. |

On
January 10, 2011, the Professional Practices Committee and several
Commissioners met in executive session (non-public) to consider disciplinary
cases pursuant to ORS 342.176. During the meeting, ten cases were reviewed and
considered. The Commission took action
to dismiss eight complaints from patrons and to take no further action on two
reports from superintendents pursuant to OAR 584-020-0041(2). This meeting was held via teleconference
call.
Also tested for the meeting
was a new method of transferring the discipline case files to a "Secure FTP”. Commissioners were able to log on and review the
cases under consideration at their convenience.
The FTP server also eliminated the expense of providing massive paper
copies, postage, copier toner, staples, envelopes, and staff time. This method of providing cases to
Commissioners for their review is being used for this Commission meeting and
will continue for future meetings.
