Passing Score |
Compensatory Scoring: The passing score
for each section is a scaled score of 41. A total CBEST score of 123 is
required for passing status. However, it is possible to pass the CBEST with a
scaled score of 37 on one or two sections, provided that the total score is
123 or higher. It is not possible to
pass the CBEST if any section score is below 37, regardless of how high the
total score may be. |

Score Reporting |
Examinees: Unofficial
test results for the Unofficial
test results for all sections are emailed and posted to the CBEST Web site
and official score reports are mailed 10 business days after the end of each
testing window on the published score report date. Institutions
and the TSPC: Same day as release of examinee score reports; cumulative test
and registration data provided through Results Analyzer™. |
A scaled score is provided immediately after testing at the
test center for the Reading, Mathematics and Technology Literacy Subtests; detailed
score reports are released electronically within two weeks of testing for
multiple-choice only subtests and within four weeks of testing for Subtest
II: Writing. Institutions and the TSPC: Same day as release of detailed
score reports; cumulative test and registration data provided through Results
Analyzer™. |

Retake Policy |
Paper-based: no limitations; examinees may test on all
occasions. Computer-based:
120 days; 90 days as of August 6, 2010; does not limit paper-based
registration. Examinees
