Vickie/Keith-
In a previous conversation
you asked about Oregon Reading Specialist and what would be included in a
Reading Specialist test that is currently not in the NES Reading
Instruction test.
Following are our findings
when looking at the Oregon state standards re: Reading Specialist here:
http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/rules/OARS_500/OAR_584/584_065.html
(Reading Specialist is rule 584-065-0050)
NES Essential Components of
Reading Instruction matches all OR Reading Specialist rules EXCEPT
the following:
Note: The NES test is
focused on classroom reading instruction in grades K-6. For an Oregon
reading specialist test, we would need to add the above content AND we would
need to cover grades 7-12, if it is considered an all-level certificate.
I hope this is helpful in
outlining the differences – please let me know if there is anything else on
this that I can provide!
