INFORMATION:

On March 18-20, 2002, TSPC conducted an on-site approval visit on the Northwest Christian College campus in Eugene, Oregon.  Members of the team were Rich Biffle, Anne Jones, Margi Macy, Chuck White and Linda Samek.  Exhibits were delivered to the TSPC office for analysis prior to the visit, along with a presentation and discussion with the teacher preparation faculty.

The team found that Northwest Christian College is in substantial compliance with the standards.  The standards found to be Unmet were 584-017-0057, 584-017-0182, and 584-017-0462.  All three standards are related to internship policies.  The unit has not arranged any internships to date in either the teacher or school counselor preparation programs, but the team felt policies outlining their procedures should be in place before the first request arises. The unit has been asked to provide evidence of progress in correcting these conditions in the 2002 TSPC annual report.
